Born into the Irish Quaker community in County Tipperary, Ireland, a region with a strong Friends presence established by William Edmundson and others.

Called to the Ministry

Recognized as a minister among Friends, Mary Peisley began traveling in the service of the Gospel across Ireland and to meetings in England.

1753–1754

Journey to America with Catherine Payton

Traveled to the American colonies with Catherine Payton, visiting Friends meetings from Pennsylvania to the southern colonies in a major transatlantic ministry journey.

Marriage and Death

Married Samuel Neale, a fellow Irish Friend and minister. Died the same year at the age of forty, her life of ministry cut short but her witness preserved in her published account.
